Emberville System Requirements, and the Blank Recommended Column

Emberville's minimum spec: 64-bit Windows 10, an i5 3.2 GHz-class CPU, 4 GB RAM, a DirectX 10 card. The recommended column is blank.

Here’s the published minimum: 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, an Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz or equivalent CPU, 4 GB RAM, a DirectX 10 compatible video card and 4 GB of storage.

The “Recommended” column on the store page is completely empty.

On the engine: the studio has never said. No engine name appears in the dev journal, the store page, the developer Q&As or any interview. So any specific answer you read has no source behind it.

The minimum spec, line by line

ItemOfficial requirementWhat it means in practice
OSWindows 10 or superior, 64-bitWindows 11 qualifies
CPUIntel Core i5 3.2 GHz or equivalentRoughly a decade-old mainstream desktop chip
Memory4 GB RAMA very low bar
GraphicsDirectX 10 compatibleMost cards from the last decade-plus, and recent integrated graphics, should qualify
DirectXVersion 10
Storage4 GB available spaceA small install

Those numbers next to pixel-art 2D visuals suggest the load sits on CPU logic rather than GPU power. But the studio published no benchmark and no recommended spec, so “runs smoothly” has no verified definition yet. That will have to wait for post-launch testing.

Check your own machine

Four items, in order:

  1. A 64-bit Windows 10 or newer install.
  2. A CPU around Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz class (an equivalent AMD chip works the same way).
  3. 4 GB of RAM or more.
  4. A DirectX 10 capable graphics card.

If any one of those is right on the line, the safer move is to wait for post-launch performance testing rather than buying against the minimum.

Officially supported systems

  • Windows. Confirmed by both Steam and GOG; GOG’s FAQ states the game is “officially supported on Windows”.
  • SteamOS / Linux. Steam’s platform flags mark it supported and the store page carries a SteamOS + Linux requirements tab. GOG makes no equivalent commitment.
  • macOS. Not supported; Steam’s platform flag is false.
  • Steam Deck. The studio says the game will release on Steam Deck and calls it “perfect” there. But Valve’s compatibility rating read Unknown as of September 19, 2026. A developer’s own description and Valve’s rating are two different things.

Why the engine question has no answer

This isn’t secrecy, and it isn’t a case of an answer we failed to find. The studio simply hasn’t discussed it anywhere public.

For a player, the practical impact is close to zero. It won’t change which machines can run the game. The system requirements decide that.

If the studio discloses it later, this page updates. Until then, anyone naming an engine should be asked for a source.
